Dr. Samer Hajjo holds six internationally registered patents in ophthalmology:

1. Subjective Refractometer

France patent, 2003. A very low-cost device for measuring refractive errors and testing visual acuity.

2. Subjective Refractometer — Type B

France patent, 2003. A very low-cost device that allows users to measure their own refractive errors without any assistance.

3. Intraocular Lens with Intentionally Changeable Power

Syrian patent, 2019, registered with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) under the PCT, with full and final approval from the European Patent Office. An implantable intraocular lens whose power can be changed at will — for near or distance vision at any moment — by a specific head movement.

4. Multifunction Head-Mounted Apparatus

Syrian patent, 2019, registered with WIPO. A head-mounted optical device performing multiple functions.

5. A Device for Measuring Strabismus and Assessing Ocular Movement

Syrian patent, 2020, registered with WIPO under the PCT, with full and final approval from the European Patent Office, and protected in the European Union and many other countries through annual fees. Work is currently under way to bring the device into production.

6. Pediatric Intraocular Lens

Syrian patent, 2021, registered with WIPO.
